Tax Details for Rs1500 Prize Bond Winners – May 2025

The next Rs. 1,500 Prize Bond draw (Draw #102) is just around the corner and will be held in May 2025 in Karachi. People across Pakistan are excited and hopeful of winning big cash prizes.

But this time, there’s an important update you need to know: new tax rules will affect how much money winners actually receive.

The government has introduced different tax rates based on whether you are a tax filer or non-filer:

For Tax Filers (Those who submit tax returns):

• 1st Prize (Rs. 3,000,000) → Tax: Rs. 450,000

• 2nd Prize (Rs. 1,000,000) → Tax: Rs. 150,000

• 3rd Prize (Rs. 18,500) → Tax: Rs. 2,775

For Non-Filers (Those who don’t submit tax returns):

• 1st Prize (Rs. 3,000,000) → Tax: Rs. 900,000

• 2nd Prize (Rs. 1,000,000) → Tax: Rs. 300,000

• 3rd Prize (Rs. 18,500) → Tax: Rs. 5,550

If someone wins the first prize of Rs. 3,000,000, a tax filer will have Rs. 450,000 deducted, while a non-filer will lose Rs. 900,000. The same pattern applies to the second and third prizes — non-filers will face bigger tax cuts compared to filers.
