Mohsin Naqvi calls on businessmen to bring back 30% of their wealth
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has asked businessmen to bring part of their wealth back to Pakistan before the upcoming budget 2026-27.
Speaking at an event in Karachi, he said, “The business community are requested to bring back at least 30% of their money from abroad.”
He claimed that around $100 billion has moved out of Pakistan over time. He added that if even a small portion of this money returns, it could help improve the country’s economy.
Naqvi said, “If businessmen decide today, $10 billion can come back before the budget.”
He also assured business leaders that Pakistan offers good investment opportunities. “The profit Pakistan offers cannot be found anywhere else in the world,” he said, adding that the government will provide a better and more business-friendly environment.
The minister further shared that new proposals for trader visas will soon be presented to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Overall, the government is trying to encourage businessmen to invest more in Pakistan to support the economy.
