Petrol, diesel prices revised to Rs241 and Rs266; reality behind petrol price notification circulates in Killa Saifullah

A notification regarding the fixing of official prices of petrol and diesel in the Killa Saifullah tehsil of Balochistan has gone viral on social media, sparking concern and debate in public circles.

According to the viral social media notification, the price of petrol has been fixed at Rs 241 per litre and the price of diesel at Rs 266 per litre, in a document issued in the name of the Assistant Commissioner Killa Saifullah.

The document also states that all pump owners have been instructed to sell fuel at the same rates; otherwise, legal action will be taken against them. In addition, the administration has outlined monitoring measures to ensure this.

However, the most important aspect in this whole situation is that this notification has not been confirmed or denied at any official level yet, no official statement has been issued by the district administration or the concerned authorities, due to which doubts are being created among the public.

Some think this notification is old or from an unverified source, while others say it’s part of a new government policy.

Experts say that the spread of such unverified information on social media creates anxiety among the public and can also cause artificial fluctuations in the market.
