Jet fuel and light diesel prices cut after petrol price reduction

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a reduction in the prices of jet fuel and light diesel oil after cutting petrol prices earlier, providing possible relief to different sectors of the economy.

According to the new rates, the price of jet fuel used by airlines has been reduced by Rs48.80 per litre. The new price has been set at Rs283.52 per litre, down from Rs332.32 per litre.

Experts say this reduction may help lower operating costs for airlines, which could eventually lead to cheaper air tickets for passengers.

The government has also reduced the price of light diesel oil by Rs30.61 per litre. After the cut, its new price has been fixed at Rs244.93 per litre.

Light diesel oil is commonly used in small industries, factories, and agricultural tube wells. The price cut is expected to provide relief to businesses and farmers who depend on it for daily operations.
