KARACHI: Flour prices in Pakistan have increased further, according to official data, with Karachi now becoming the most expensive city for wheat flour.
The data shows that the price of a 20-kilogram flour bag has reached up to Rs2,800 in different markets. In Karachi, citizens are also paying up to Rs2,800, the highest in the country.
City-Wise Flour Prices
Official figures show the following prices for a 20kg flour bag across major cities:
- Peshawar: up to Rs2,750
- Islamabad: up to Rs2,733
- Rawalpindi: up to Rs2,707
- Quetta and Bannu: up to Rs2,700
- Hyderabad: up to Rs2,600
- Khuzdar and Larkana: up to Rs2,400
- Faisalabad: up to Rs2,350
- Gujranwala: up to Rs2,333
- Multan: up to Rs2,267
- Lahore: Rs2,250
Public Concern Growing
The continuous rise in flour prices has raised concern among citizens, especially in major cities. With basic food items becoming more expensive, household budgets are under increasing pressure.
