FBR Tax Revenue Reaches Rs3.66tr During July-September 2026
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has achieved its tax collection target for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026–27, collecting Rs3.066 trillion from July to September 2026, according to FBR data.
The FBR had set a target of Rs3.053 trillion for the first quarter. It collected Rs13 billion more than the target.
In September alone, the FBR collected more than Rs1.344 trillion against the monthly target of Rs1.343 trillion. This means the collection was more than Rs1 billion above the target.
Meanwhile, the FBR on Wednesday extended the deadline for filing income tax returns for Tax Year 2026 by 15 days to October 15, 2026.
According to an FBR circular, the deadline was extended after requests from various trade bodies and tax bar associations.
The extension was granted under Section 214A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, the circular said.
The FBR said the extension applies to people who were required to file their income tax returns for Tax Year 2026 by September 30.
