Cabinet members take charge of portfolios

The 19-member federal cabinet has been entrusted with the portfolios of the ministries.

The cabinet division has issued the notification of ministries for the federal cabinet. Khawaja Asif will be the Minister of Defence and Defence Production, Ishaq Dar given the portfolio of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahsan Iqbal assigned Ministry of Planning and Development and Muhammad Aurangzeb was tasked with the portfolio of Ministry of Finance.

Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh will be the Minister of Maritime Affairs, Riaz Pirzada, Minister of Housing and Works, Atta Tarar, Minister of Information and Broadcasting while Rana Tanveer Hussain will be the Minister of Industry and Production.

The notification stated that MQM’s Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has been given the Ministry of Science and Technology, Azam Nazir Tarar, Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

Apart from this, Musadik Malik has been assigned the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy and Mohsin Naqvi the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control.

It should be noted that President Asif Zardari administered the oath to the 19-member federal cabinet at the President’s House yesterday.
