Early Summer Vacations announced for school students

Early Summer Vacations announced for school students
Kolkata – Schools in West Bengal will begin summer vacation sooner than normal this year in response to expected heat wave conditions.
Kolkata authorities are taking actions to prevent potentially dangerous exposure of students to higher temperatures, by shutting down schools a little earlier than customary. Schools will close on April 30, 2025, instead of the usual mid-May time frame.
Usually, summer vacations in that area of the country begin around the second week of May, but in light of the forecast of increasing heat, the government opted to close schools soon. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has confirmed this, noting the importance of protecting students from increasing heat. The temperature had already been increasing, with the high being approximately 35 degrees Celsius on that Thursday.
Considering that temperatures will continue to rise, early school closure is a precautionary, forward-thinking way to mitigate the dangers of extreme heat exposure. An official announcement concerning the early vacation period will be made soon, with further details to follow. Parents and students are encouraged to stay connected through other official means and channels.
