HEC warns public about online scams, fake websites

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has warned people to be careful of online scammers who are trying to steal personal information through fake websites.

In a post shared on its X handle, HEC stated, “Public Alert: Scammers are impersonating HEC & using fake sites to steal info. HEC never asks for OTPs, passwords, or bank details. Report suspicious activity to us.”

HEC also made it clear that it has only one official website where all real and verified information is shared. The public is advised to stay cautious and avoid sharing any personal data on unofficial platforms.
