Summer Vacations 2025 Announced for Balochistan, Punjab, and Sindh Amid Soaring Temperatures

19 May, 2025 12:36

QUETTA, PAKISTAN — As scorching temperatures grip much of Pakistan, education departments in Balochistan, Punjab, and Sindh have officially announced the summer vacation schedule for 2025, offering a welcome break for students and teachers.

Balochistan Summer Vacations 2025

In hot regions of Balochistan, summer holidays started on May 17, 2025. Schools will remain closed until July 31, with classes resuming on Friday, August 1.

Punjab Summer Vacations 2025

The Punjab government has confirmed that summer holidays will begin on Sunday, June 1, 2025, and continue until Saturday, August 9, 2025.

Due to rising temperatures, the provincial education department has warned that holidays could start earlier if the weather worsens. The move is aimed at safeguarding the health of students, teachers, and school staff.

Sindh Summer Vacations 2025

In Sindh, including Karachi and Hyderabad, all public and private schools will remain closed from June 1 to July 31, 2025.

Despite rumours, officials have denied any early start to the holidays, confirming that the schedule remains unchanged.

Climate Concerns and School Closures

Pakistan remains one of the most climate-vulnerable countries, with heatwaves, floods, and other extreme weather events becoming increasingly frequent. Experts warn that climate change continues to pose a serious threat to education, health, and infrastructure across the country.

Education authorities are now more responsive than ever, taking proactive measures such as adjusting academic calendars to protect students during extreme weather events.

Summer Activities Across Pakistan

For many families, summer vacation is a time for travel, rest, and reflection. Northern areas like Murree, Swat, and Hunza become popular getaways, while cities such as Lahore and Karachi host cultural festivals and food fairs.

Others use this break for spiritual reflection, learning new skills, or spending quality time with loved ones.
