Will Sindh schools open on August 1 after summer holidays?

19 July, 2025 19:14

The summer vacations in Sindh schools are scheduled to end on July 31, 2025 (Thursday), and classes will resume on August 1 (Friday).

All private and government schools in the province have been closed since June 1 as part of the summer break.

The Sindh Education Department had earlier issued a notification confirming that schools would remain closed from June 1 to July 31.

Currently, there is no official announcement regarding the extension of the holidays. However, it is expected that attendance on August 1 may be low as it falls on a Friday, and regular academic activities will likely begin properly from Monday, August 4, after the weekend.

If the ongoing monsoon rains in Sindh become more intense, the government may review the situation and consider extending the holidays. Weather forecasts predict that monsoon currents are active in Sindh and other parts of Pakistan, with rains expected to increase in upper and central areas from July 20.

In Punjab, summer vacations began earlier on May 28 due to an intense heatwave. Schools in Punjab will reopen on August 15 after the holidays end on August 14.
