Punjab Notifies Revised Curriculum for Matric Students Starting 2025–26

The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) has officially released an updated Scheme of Studies for Matric-level students (Grades 9 and 10) across the Humanities and Science groups.

Effective From Academic Session 2025–26

According to the latest notification, the new curriculum will be enforced beginning the 2025–26 academic year. This move partially revises the previous curriculum notification issued on December 26, 2024.

Approval and Legal Framework

The revised curriculum was approved during the 121st meeting of the PCTB Board of Governors, held on December 3, 2024. It has been structured under Section 9(3)(c) of the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board Act, 2015.

Focus on Quality Education

The updated study plans, listed as Annex-A (Humanities) and Annex-B (Science), are designed to improve academic quality and meet modern educational requirements.

Instructions to Schools and Teachers

“Schools, teachers, and institutions across Punjab have been instructed to prepare for the implementation of these changes in the upcoming academic session.”

Support Materials to Be Provided

The PCTB will issue further instructions and supporting materials to ensure a smooth transition to the new study scheme.
