Punjab school summer holidays extended – New dates here

The Punjab School Education Department has officially extended summer vacations for all public and private schools in the province. As per the latest notification issued on August 7, 2025, schools will now remain closed from August 14 to August 31 and will reopen on Monday, September 1, 2025.

This decision was approved by the Competent Authority and follows the department’s earlier summer break announcement made on May 20, 2025. The extension applies to all schools working under the School Education Department.

All Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of District Education Authorities have been directed to strictly follow the updated holiday schedule.

The official announcement comes after a fake notification about holiday extension had been circulating on social media. At that time, the department denied the news and warned people not to believe unverified sources.

Now, with the new notification, all confusion has been cleared. Schools will remain closed until the end of August, and normal classes will resume from September 1 with full academic activities.
