The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) is being conducted across the country today, with approximately 140,000 candidates appearing for the highly competitive examination.
According to the Khyber Medical University (KMU) administration, the test in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is being administered concurrently in seven districts — Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Lower Dir, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, and Abbottabad.
As per official figures, a total of 39,981 aspirants from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are participating in the assessment. The examination commenced at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude at 1:30 p.m. across all designated centers.
The university administration further stated that Section 144 has been enforced in the vicinity of all examination venues. Additionally, the use or possession of mobile phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and other electronic devices within the examination premises has been strictly prohibited.
