FPSC Introduces New Rule for CSS Exams from 2026

The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced a major change in the CSS Competitive Examination starting from 2026. The commission will now hold only one compulsory paper per day. Earlier, two compulsory papers were conducted on the same day.

The FPSC said this decision is made to make the exam easier for candidates. It will help reduce stress and ensure the smooth conduct of the examination. Candidates will now have more time to prepare for each paper.

The commission also stated that a detailed timetable for the exams will be shared soon. Candidates are advised to keep checking the FPSC official website for updates.

The public notice about this change was issued from Islamabad on December 17, 2025. It was signed by Zafar Abbas Memon, Director (CE) of the Federal Public Service Commission.

This new rule is expected to benefit thousands of CSS aspirants across Pakistan. Experts say it will improve focus and performance during the exams. Candidates are encouraged to plan their studies according to the new schedule once it is released.
