KP Announces Winter Vacations for Educational Institutions

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced the winter vacation schedule for educational institutions in both summer and winter zones of the province. The decision aims to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and staff during the cold winter season.

According to the Secretary of Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, schools and colleges in the summer zone will remain closed from January 1 to January 15, 2026. Meanwhile, educational institutions in the winter zone will observe a longer break from December 22, 2025, to February 28, 2026, due to harsh weather in mountainous areas.

Winter Vacations in Other Provinces

In Punjab, the winter break will start from December 23, 2025, and continue until January 11, 2026. Government and private schools in Punjab are scheduled to reopen on January 12, 2026.

Similarly, in Sindh, winter vacations will be observed from December 22 to December 31, 2025. Schools across the province will reopen on January 1, 2026.

Reason for Winter Break

The winter vacations are announced to protect students, teachers, and staff from extreme cold, especially in the northern and hilly regions of KP. Authorities have emphasized that this schedule will help maintain smooth academic operations while ensuring safety.

The government has also urged parents and school authorities to follow all safety measures during the break and make proper arrangements for students in the absence of school supervision.
