Good news for Arts Group Matric students in Punjab - check details
LAHORE: The Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE) has updated its admission rules for the Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) program. Under the new policy, students with a background in Arts subjects can now apply, whereas previously only Science students were eligible.
The change was approved in a meeting chaired by Punjab Minister for Industry and Commerce, Chaudhry Shafaat Hussain, which also reviewed the board’s six-point agenda and approved key initiatives. One major decision includes a 50% medical allowance for family pensioners of retired employees, aimed at providing financial support to retirees’ families.
Matric and Intermediate Exams 2026
The PBTE has also announced the revised schedule for matric and intermediate annual exams 2026 due to Ramadan and Eidul Fitr.
Matric Exams: Start from March 27, 2026 (previously March 3)
Intermediate Exams: Start from May 20, 2026
Admission Form Schedule
Single Fee: Submit by February 11
Double Fee: From February 24
Triple Fee: By March 9, 2026
The board has asked students to follow the revised schedule for submitting admission forms and exam dates to avoid any issues.
This change opens new opportunities for Arts students interested in pursuing engineering diplomas while also providing updated guidelines for upcoming board exams.
