Spring and Eid holidays 2026 announced for Islamabad schools - Check date
The federal education department has announced spring holidays for schools and colleges in Islamabad from March 24 to March 27, 2026.
Educational institutions are scheduled to reopen on March 30.
This spring break has been combined with the Eid holidays, expected to be observed from March 20 to March 23, giving students a longer period of time off.
Authorities confirmed that all classes and educational activities will resume as usual on March 30 after the combined holiday period.
The Meteorological Department has also released a prediction for the Eid-ul-Fitr moon. According to their forecast, Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to fall on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
The department stated that the new moon will appear on the morning of March 19 at 6:23 AM, but its age will be only 12 to 13 hours, which is considered too short for sighting. For moon sighting, the moon must be at least 18 to 20 hours old, so it is unlikely to be visible on March 19.
The Shawwal moon is expected to be sighted on the evening of March 20, which makes March 21 a likely date for Eid-ul-Fitr. However, the final announcement will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
