Katrina said, “I think we really need to be careful of letting the narrative on social media affect our self-worth and value because there are so many opinions out there.”
She pointed out that trying to satisfy everyone can affect a person’s ability to make independent choices. Speaking from personal experience, she had allowed criticism to guide her choices, it would have left her too afraid to take the next step in life.
Katrina also noted that while people may celebrate someone at times, there are moments when individuals must learn to support themselves. She added, “There are times the world is going to celebrate you and other times, you really have to be your own biggest cheerleader.”
She spoke about online opinions after facing criticism for her appearance at the Ambani Ganesh Puja with Vicky Kaushal. Some internet users made fun of her appearance following the birth of her child. Even though Katrina did not speak directly about the backlash, Katrina’s remarks highlighted the need to value oneself despite social media criticism.
