Gold prices rise sharply in Pakistan - check rates
Gold prices in Pakistan recorded a major drop today as the local market continued to experience fluctuations. On the fourth business day of the week, the per tola rate of gold fell by Rs 2,700, giving relief to buyers after several days of instability.
Per Tola Gold Falls to Rs 444,162
According to the data issued by the All Pakistan Jewellers Manufacturers Association, the new price of 24-karat gold per tola now stands at Rs 444,162 after a decrease of Rs 2,700.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold fell by Rs 2,315, bringing the new rate to Rs 380,797.
Market dealers said the decline is mainly due to reduced local demand and a downward trend in international gold trading.
Silver Prices Increase in the Local Market
Unlike gold, the local silver market witnessed an upward trend.
Today, one tola silver rose by Rs 41, reaching Rs 6,004, while 10 grams silver went up by Rs 35 to Rs 5,147.
International Gold Price Also Drops
In the global market, gold prices also slipped.
Today, the price of gold per ounce dropped by $27, bringing it down to $4,218.
Analysts believe that global economic pressure and currency fluctuations are contributing factors behind the decline.
