Mahmoodabad Police Station avoids filing FIRs

12 March, 2024 16:29

Getting a case filed with police is a fundamental right of every citizen, however, a resident of Mehmoodabad is deprived of the due right for the last four months.

Ill-fated Muhammad Imran lost his two-wheeler when unknown suspects stolen his bike parked outside his home on November 4, 2023. Hours after the incident, he visited the Mehmoodabad Police Station to register a case. At the police station after arguments, he was only managed to get an Entry Slip from the on-duty police officers. He was told to visit after somedays to file the case as high ups have ordered not to register FIR.

He returned home without getting his case registered and later visited a few days before the Feb 8 elections. Again, Imran was refused to file the case by Duty officer ASI Amjad Bhatti and asked to come after the elections. The officer told the victim that the governor had ordered not to file cases. On March 4, Imran visited the Mahmoodabad Police Station but again he failed to get his case registered. He was told by the on-duty officer that Murtaza Wahab has directed not to file FIRs.

Ill-fated Muhammad Imran have made around 10 visits to the police station since Nov 4, 2023, but his case had not been filed.

He has demanded IGP, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and other high-ups to look into his matter.
