Minister eyes cheaper electricity for people thru 10 hydro projects in next ten years.
Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that ten new hydro electricity generation projects would be completed in the country during next ten years.

He stated this, while addressing a function in Multan on Monday.
The Minister further said that these projects would ensure the provision of cheaper electricity to the people.
Qureshi said Pakistan has the potential of generating fifty thousand megawatt electricity through renewable energy.
Moreover, he said that the previous governments signed costly agreements with IPPs.
Meanwhile,
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also talked to media persons in Multan.
He said that the government is working on transformation of Pakistan’s geo-politics to geo-economy policy.
He further said a Regional Economy Policy Division is being established at foreign ministry to bring investment in the country.
The Foreign Minister said we are introducing innovation in diplomacy using digital technology which will produce positive results.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi also spoke on Afghan peace process. He said that Pakistan is playing an active role of facilitator for peace in Afghanistan.
He said that our stance has been acknowledged that there is no military solution to the conflict.
