Minister tells LCCI about economic indicators showing positive trajectory.

Federal Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azhar said, while talking to members of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Lahore on Saturday.

He said that economic indicators are showing positive trajectory and national economy will further improve in coming days.

Hammad Azhar said thirteen economic zones are being established in Punjab.

He further said that federal government has made operational two plants of urea fertilizer to fulfill the demand of agriculture sector.

Furthermore, he said power looms are working twenty four hour.

Hammad said it would boost economic situation of country.

However, Prime Minister Imran Khan has vowed to bring inflation under control further.

While s comparing to other parts of the subcontinent,  he said prices of food items are declining in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) for Revenue Dr Waqar Masood said that government was making all out efforts to expand tax net across the country.

In an interview on Friday, he said that the federal board of revenue (FBR) was holding all data and information of the people.

Waqar Masood said that we have 6400,000 national tax numbers but unfortunately, only 2700,000 persons were paying the taxes.

Furthermore, he stressed the need to enhance gross domestic product (GDP), rate to double digit.

While appreciating the policies of the ruling PTI, the SAPM said remittances had been increasing in the country.

He noted that prices of other items remained under control, excluding  food inflation.
