Minister reviews health and food situation in Islamabad amid Coronavirus threat.

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar Monday chaired a meeting on coronavirus related measures.
MNAs Ali Nawaz Awan and Raja Khurrum, commissioner and deputy commissioner Islamabad attended the meeting.
Minister reviews health and food situation
They reviewed the situation of health and food in the federal capital.
Officials informed the meeting that as many as 1,000 deserving families of the federal capital were receiving ration bags daily.
The meeting also decided to kick off a three-day awareness campaign on coronavirus which would be initiated under the leadership of Raja Khurrum.
Asad Umar said in order to ensure social distances to avoid spread of virus, it was vital that a comprehensive awareness campaign should be started.
He said Islamabad’s elected representatives, volunteers and the management staff would participate in the campaign.
He said the system of fresh fruit and vegetable markets would not be affected due to the lockdown.
The minister said in the federal capital, food provision to the people would be ensured through utility stores.
ADB approves another $2m grant
Earlier, ADB approves another $2m grant for Pakistan to combat Coronavirus.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) made this approval on Monday.
It approved a further $2 million grant to support the government of Pakistan’s efforts to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the country.
On 18th March, ADB announced an initial package of approximately $6.5 billion to address the immediate needs of its developing member countries.
The said countries are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
ADB stands ready to provide further financial assistance and policy advice down the road whenever the situation warrants.
