Kamyab Jawan Program loan limits increased to Rs 25m to facilitate youth to go for big business ventures.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved enhancing upper limit of the loan.

Earlier, government had set Rs 5 million for this purpose under Kamyab Jawan Program.

PM Khan made this approval during his meeting with Finance Adviser Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh and Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Usman Dar in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Now the budding entrepreneurs can get a loan upto 25 million rupees instead of five million rupees. The Prime Minister also decided to reduce the applicable markup rate from eight percent.

Speaking on the occasion, Imran Khan said that young entrepreneurs will be encouraged more as soon as relaxation in lockdown occurs. He said youth is a precious asset of the country and the government will invest more in them. He said young people have greater role in strengthen country’s economy.

Meanwhile, PM’s Adviser on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh spoke on priorities of the government.

He called provision of health care and cash assistance to vulnerable people and keep moving wheel of the economy in steady pace government’s priorities.

Shaikh said this while talking to Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing, who called on him in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Sharing details of the economic relief package, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh said government has come up with a comprehensive relief package of worth 1.2 trillion rupees.

The Adviser also discussed with the Ambassador the effect of Corona virus Pandemic on overall growth of economy of the country as exports and remittances shall both suffer as the global economies are in recessionary phase.
