Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that emerging geo-strategic paradigm in the region necessitates our close cooperation and collective response against common challenges.

He was talking to Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan Colonel General Eyvazov Vilayat Suleyman Oglu, Chief of State Border Service of Azerbaijan Colonel General Elchin Guliyev and Chief of State Security Service Colonel General Ali Naghi Oglu Naghiyev at Baku on Wednesday.

The Army Chief also reiterated for increased mutually beneficial engagements at all levels and forums.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, bilateral defence and security cooperation, regional peace and stability came under discussion.

Both sides also discussed cooperation in energy, trade and connectivity projects between the two brotherly countries.

Moreover, the dignitaries also acknowledged high standards of professionalism of the Pakistan Army.

They also hailed Pakistan Army’s contributions for conflict prevention in the region especially efforts for bringing peace in Afghanistan.

On Tuesday, Chief of Defence Forces of Kenya General Robert Kariuki Kibochi called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Nadeem Raza in Rawalpindi.

Matters of bilateral professional interest and further strengthening of security and defence cooperation between the two countries came under discussion during the meeting.

Moreover, both sides also deliberated upon prevailing international and regional security environment.

Meanwhile, General Robert Kariuki Kibochi lauded the professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces.

He also acknowledged their sacrifices in fight against terrorism.
