Govt making comprehensive policy for expansion of auto industry, said Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin.

He said this, while talking to Korean Ambassador to Pakistan Suh Sang Pyo who called on him in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Tarin further said the government’s policy aim at increasing the production of cars, motorcycles, tractors etc.

He said the government stay determined to encourage and incentivize foreign investors who want to undertake investment venture in different fields.

Shaukat Tarin said the government also stands committed to revive the business and industry hit hard due to Coronavirus pandemic.

The ultimate focus of government is employment generation, efficient resource mobilization and industrial growth.

The Finance Minister welcomed plans by Samsung to start cell phone assembly in Pakistan and promised full facilitation in this regard.

He expressed desire of increasing exports to Korea.

The Korean Ambassador highlighted potential for furthering cooperation in hydropower generation./

Furthermore, h said that Korean companies are satisfied with the business environment in the country.

Meanwhile, President Zarai Taraqiati Bank Shahbaz Jameel also called on Shaukat Tarin in Islamabad on Tuesday.

President ZTBL briefed the Finance Minister about the quarterly profit registered by the Bank ending on 30th June this year.

Such report has come after a gap of almost four years.

The Finance Minister urged to adopt prudent lending, stringent accounting controls, innovative banking solutions and austerity measures for a turnaround in the long term.

He said ZTBL has been extending loans to poor farmers to boost agricultural productivity at the grass root level.

Moreover, Tarin directed the management to make concerted efforts to make the bank sustainable and dynamic to promote agro-farming in the country.
