Police granted 3-day judicial remand of a suspect in murder

Police on Monday obtained three-day judicial remand from a magistrate of a suspect accused in murder of eight people with an axe in Sheikupura.

The remand was approved after the police presented suspect before the magistrate.

The police shared that clauses from the Anti-Terrorist Act have also been added to the FIR, adding that the suspect will be presented before an anti-terrorism court tomorrow (Tuesday).

The police also shared that five policemen found of dereliction of duties are already under arrest.

The policemen were accused of negligence in a report submitted by the regional police officer (RPO). The report states that the locals had warned the police that the suspect had threatened to murder people.
