Karachi at risk of urban flooding

Amid upcoming monsoon season, Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah called a hurdle to tackle possibility of urban flooding in Karachi.

The meeting was attended by top officials including Meteorological Department and PDMA to untoward possible stormy rains and flood disasters in Sindh.

He also directed all deputy commissioners and district disaster management authorities to mull over the situation.

Sindh CS said due to climate change, the province could be facing more rain and floods than usual this year.

He warned that there was a risk of urban flooding due to rain in all major cities of Sindh including Karachi.
