Khawaja Asif urges muslim nations to unite against Israel

14 June, 2025 13:57

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has called for urgent unity among Muslim countries to stand against Israel’s military actions in the Middle East. He warned that staying silent now could bring danger to other Muslim nations in the future.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Asif showed full support for Iran, which recently suffered Israeli airstrikes. He said, “Israel has attacked Iranian military installations and martyred key Iranian military leaders. This war is not just between Iran and Israel — Israel is not acting alone.”

He highlighted Pakistan’s deep historical and cultural connection with Iran, saying, “Their pain is our pain,” and Pakistan stands by Iran in this difficult time.

Khawaja Asif urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to hold an emergency meeting so that Muslim countries can build a joint strategy. He stressed, “Israel has targeted Yemen, Iran, and Palestine and the Islamic world must rise in unison.” If they remain divided, he said, each Muslim country could face the same threat.

He criticized the silence of some Muslim governments about the killing of Palestinian civilians, especially children, and pointed out how even people in Western countries are now protesting against Israel. “Even the conscience of non-Muslim nations has awakened — but the Muslim world remains largely silent,” he said.

Reconfirming Pakistan’s clear policy, he said, “From day one, Pakistan has neither recognized Israel nor established any ties.” He mentioned that some Pakistanis may have visited Israel, but he refused to discuss who arranged those visits.

Asif also condemned Muslim countries that have friendly relations with Israel, urging them to rethink their ties. He warned, “Israel’s hands are stained with the blood of Muslims. These hands must be rejected, not shaken.”

He compared this situation with Pakistan’s conflict with India, saying Pakistan fought back strongly. “When India attacked us, it paid a heavy price.”

Lastly, he condemned terrorist groups like the BLA and TTP, calling them tools of India. He stated that those supporting these groups are betraying Pakistan.
