Pakistan 72-page passport fee updated for July 2025

12 July, 2025 20:22

The Government of Pakistan issues passports to its citizens to help them travel internationally and receive protection from Pakistani embassies and consulates while abroad.

A valid Pakistani passport gives its holder the right to seek help from Pakistan’s diplomatic staff in foreign countries. It is also the main official document to prove a Pakistani citizen’s identity outside the country and ensures their legal right to leave and return to Pakistan.

All citizens can apply for a Machine Readable Passport (MRP) for international travel if they meet the required conditions. To get an MRP, applicants must pay the set passport fee and visit their nearest Regional Passport Office (RPO) to complete the process.

There are two ways to apply for a passport:

Online Application

This option is for Pakistanis living in Pakistan or abroad who want to renew their passports, make small changes, or get a new passport for a newborn living overseas.

In-Person Application

Citizens can visit regional passport offices in Pakistan or Pakistani embassies abroad to apply for new passports, renewals, or updates.

The system is designed to make passport issuance smooth while keeping travel documents secure and reliable for all Pakistani nationals.

72-Page Passport Fee

The government offers passports in 36, 72, and 100-page versions. For those applying for a 72-page passport, the fees are:

  • 5-Year Validity

    • Normal Fee: Rs 8,200

    • Urgent Fee: Rs 13,500

  • 10-Year Validity

    • Normal Fee: Rs 12,400

    • Urgent Fee: Rs 20,200

These charges apply to both new passports and renewals, as long as all requirements are met.
