Pakistan's Advanced Remote Sensing Satellite Successfully Launched into Space
A remote sensing satellite has been successfully launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in China. Scientists from Pakistan’s space agency, SUPARCO, were present in China for the event.
According to a SUPARCO spokesperson, the new satellite will strengthen Pakistan’s remote sensing fleet. It will play a key role in monitoring urban planning, agriculture, melting glaciers, deforestation, floods, earthquakes, and other natural disasters.
The spokesperson added that the satellite will be a milestone in monitoring climate change, preserving natural resources, and improving early warning systems. This launch is a practical expression of the agency’s “Vision 2047” and national space policy.
SUPARCO monitored the launch live from the Institute of Space Technology in Islamabad and its headquarters in Karachi. Pakistani and international experts have called this development a major scientific and technological step for the country.
