The Pakistan Armed Forces, led by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff; General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee; Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff; and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, solemnly marked the 67th martyrdom anniversary of Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider.

Major Tufail embraced martyrdom while fearlessly engaging the enemy in the Lakshmipur sector of the former East Pakistan. Displaying exceptional bravery and steadfast leadership, he led his troops in a decisive assault against enemy forces. Even after being critically wounded, he continued to fight with remarkable courage until successfully completing his mission. His unparalleled gallantry earned him Pakistan’s highest military award, the Nishan-e-Haider.

On this occasion, the Armed Forces paid rich tribute to Major Tufail and all martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Their unwavering commitment, courage, and patriotism remain an enduring source of inspiration for future generations.

Pakistan’s military leadership reaffirmed the nation’s eternal gratitude to its martyrs, whose sacrifices safeguard the country’s peace, sovereignty, and stability.

“We salute our heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for the defence of Pakistan. Their courage and devotion shall never be forgotten,” ISPR said in a press release.
