Garment Factory in New Karachi Catches Massive Fire, Building Collapses

Karachi: A fire broke out at a garments factory in the New Karachi Industrial Area. A 3-storey building of the affected factory has collapsed.

According to the fire brigade officials, the fire engulfed the back part of the factory and the intensity of the fire was greater at the back part.

The rescue officials told that the ground floor caught fire, weakening the building’s foundations due to which the building collapsed during firefighting operation.

The rescue official added that the factory building has been completely destroyed and Police have shut down work in nearby factories.

Firefighters and other rescue workers were trapped under the debris. Three people have been rescued in injured condition from the rubble, according to rescue officials.
A loud explosion occurred as the factory collapsed, causing panic. Firefighting efforts were ongoing in the affected garments factory.
