PM Shehbaz on Access to Information: A Basic Right for All

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that access to information is a fundamental right of every citizen. He said that information ensures transparency and accountability in governance.

According to the Prime Minister, free access to information strengthens good governance and builds a well-informed society, which is the foundation for sustainable development.

He highlighted the government’s efforts to protect citizens’ right to information. Special focus is being given to ensure equal access to information for women and youth.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also stated that the Pakistan Information Commission is actively facilitating citizens. The digitization of public records has already begun to make information more accessible.

He called upon everyone to play their part in creating a transparent society and said that a knowledge-based society strengthens democracy.

Finally, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to protecting global access to information.
