Shehbaz Sharif Meets Nawaz Sharif, Briefs Him on AJK Developments

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif in Lahore on Friday to discuss key national and political matters, including recent foreign engagements, the situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and the upcoming visit to Malaysia.

According to official sources, the Prime Minister briefed Nawaz Sharif about his recent international visits, their outcomes, and discussions held with foreign leaders. The meeting also focused on ongoing political and economic developments in the country.

Shehbaz Sharif gave a detailed briefing on the current situation in AJK, highlighting the government’s successful negotiations with local representatives aimed at maintaining peace and stability in the region.

During the meeting, both leaders exchanged views on governance matters and reviewed progress on federal and provincial projects. They agreed to continue working together to strengthen national unity and improve public welfare initiatives under the PML-N’s agenda of stability and economic growth.

Sources said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also discussed his upcoming two-day official visit to Malaysia, scheduled for Saturday. The visit aims to enhance bilateral trade, investment, and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.

It was further revealed that Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had extended an invitation to both Shehbaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif to visit Malaysia. Nawaz Sharif expressed gratitude for the invitation but said he would undertake the visit at a later, more suitable time due to prior commitments.

Officials said the Prime Minister’s visit will include high-level meetings with Malaysian leadership, discussions on economic collaboration, and signing of agreements to boost cooperation in education, technology, and business sectors.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s ties with friendly nations and continuing the government’s focus on economic recovery, investment promotion, and regional peace.
