Punjab district bans registration of court marriages

The Deputy Director of Local Government and Community Development, Rawalpindi District, has announced a ban on the registration of Nikah (marriage) certificates within the Katchery (court complex) area of Rawalpindi.

According to the official order, Union Council secretaries and Nikah registrars have been strictly instructed not to record or process any Nikah certificates in the Katchery jurisdiction.

The Deputy Director also warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone who violates this directive.

Copies of the notification have been sent to the Director and Assistant Director to ensure proper implementation and monitoring of the ban.
