Karachi’s Traffic Police have outlined a comprehensive traffic management plan ahead of the Pakistan International Maritime Expo and Conference, set to take place from November 3 to 6 at the Expo Center. The plan aims to manage heavy and commercial traffic, as well as ease public movement during the event.
According to a spokesperson for the Traffic Police, heavy and commercial vehicles traveling from Sharae Faisal Nursery will not be permitted to proceed towards the stadium. “This traffic will also not be allowed to go from Habib Ibrahim Rahmatullah Road to Sarshah Suleman Road.”
Instead, drivers of such vehicles are advised to take alternative routes, including Carsaz, Drug Road to Rashid Minhas Road, and from Millennium to the NEPA route. Additionally, heavy and commercial traffic will be prohibited from traveling from NEPA to Hasan Square.
For those traveling from the airport, vehicles coming via Drug Road will be directed to take a right turn towards Rashid Minhas Road and Millennium. However, heavy and commercial traffic from Millennium on Rashid Minhas Road will be restricted from heading towards Dalmia via the stadium.

Further diversions are in place to alleviate congestion in key areas. Traffic can be directed from NEPA, Askari Four, and Drug Road towards Sharae Faisal or Millennium, as well as from NEPA towards Safora or Gulshan Chowrangi leading to Sohrab Goth.
“On University Road, heavy and commercial traffic from inner areas will be prohibited from going towards the stadium or University Road. This traffic will be diverted towards Shaheed-e-Millat Road and Baloch Pul.”
Similarly, heavy and commercial traffic will not be allowed to proceed from Sarshah Suleman Road and Liaquatabad No.10 to Hasan Square. An alternative route through Sharae Pakistan and Karimabad to Sohrab Goth will be available for these vehicles.
“Both roads from Sarshah Suleman Road, Hasan Square to the stadium will be closed for heavy and commercial traffic.” However, the flyover from Hasan Square to National Stadium and the route from National Stadium to Hasan Square will remain open for smaller vehicles.
To further streamline traffic, no vehicles will be allowed to proceed from the University Road Expo turning towards the stadium, ensuring that traffic flows smoothly throughout the duration of the event.
