Sindh educational boards have decided to implement an e-marking system for the matriculation examinations in 2026, marking a significant shift toward digital assessment.
According to the report, the submission of examination forms for Classes 9 and 10 under Sindh boards is expected to begin shortly. Authorities have confirmed that the overall examination framework will be revised starting next year to incorporate modern evaluation methods.
Under the new system, two to three papers of the annual Class 9 and 10 examinations will be assessed using the e-marking process. To support this initiative, the Federal Board has already provided specialized e-marking software to the Department of Universities and Boards.
The digital evaluation system will not be limited to matric exams alone. Officials have also announced that two to three papers of the intermediate annual examinations across Sindh boards will be checked through e-marking in 2026.
Heads of various educational boards have welcomed the Federal Board’s provision of technology and software, describing it as an important move toward enhancing transparency and fairness in the examination system.
Commenting on the development, Executive Director of the Inter Board Coordination Committee (IBCC), Islamabad, Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, stated that both the examination process and the checking of answer scripts would be carried out using IT-based e-marking.
It is worth noting that during 2025, the Mathematics paper for Classes 9 and 10 was already conducted under the e-marking system, paving the way for its broader implementation in the coming years.
