Security Forces Foil Waziristan Camp Attack Four Militants Killed Four Soldiers Martyred
North Waziristan: Security forces successfully foiled a terrorist attack on a military camp in the Boya area of North Waziristan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
ISPR said the attack was carried out by Indian-backed Fitna Al Khawarij, who attempted to enter the security forces’ camp. The attackers rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the outer wall of the camp, causing a powerful suicide blast that damaged the perimeter wall.
The explosion also damaged nearby civilian buildings and a mosque. As a result, 15 civilians, including women and children, were injured, ISPR confirmed.
Security forces responded swiftly and killed all four terrorists during a heavy exchange of fire. However, four soldiers embraced martyrdom while defending the camp. The martyrs were identified as Havaldar Muhammad Waqas, Naik Khanwaiz, Sepoy Safyan Haider, and Sepoy Riffat.
ISPR stated that the terrorist attack was planned from Afghanistan and reiterated that Pakistan expects the Afghan government to prevent the use of its soil for terrorist activities against Pakistan. It added that Pakistan reserves the right to take action against terrorists and their facilitators to protect its people.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack and paid tribute to the martyrs. He praised the security forces for killing the terrorists and said the entire nation salutes the sacrifices of its brave soldiers. The prime minister also expressed condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured civilians.
President Asif Ali Zardari also condemned the attack, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of soldiers and injuries to civilians, and praised the security forces for their timely and courageous response. He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to national security and public protection.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi lauded the security forces for defeating the attackers and said the brave soldiers sacrificed their lives to save the country. He expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed for the recovery of the injured.
