Iran Arrests Suspects Linked to US, Europe-Based Anti-State Groups

The Iranian Ministry of Intelligence stated that those arrested belonged to anti-Iranian groups based in the United States and Europe whose aim was to incite violent protests in the country.

According to a report by Mehr News Agency, an informed source in Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence has announced that elements involved in conspiring to cause riots in the country have been arrested after being identified and revealed to have links to anti-Iranian groups abroad.

Sources said that five of the arrested individuals were in contact with anti-national groups based in the United States, while two were affiliated with opposition groups based in Europe. These individuals are accused of planning to incite unrest and violence in the country.

Moreover, 100 smuggled pistols, which were brought into the country under the guise of legal goods, were also recovered during the operation. Elements involved in the shipment of weapons have also been detained.

Initial investigations indicate that the aim of these groups was to incite violence and damage public property during protests in the country.
