Pakistan, China Reaffirm ‘Iron Brothers’ Ties at Strategic Dialogue

At the invitation of the Chinese Foreign Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan visited Beijing to co-chair the seventh round of the Strategic Dialogue.

During the session, the two Foreign Ministers discussed various sectors of bilateral relations and cooperation, emphasizing strategic and political synergy across defense, the economy, trade, investment, and cultural ties. The parties also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening strategic ties and promoting mutual trust.

Both sides agreed on the importance of safeguarding common interests, fostering socio-economic development, and promoting global peace and prosperity. To honor this enduring bond, the two countries announced the launch of celebrations to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026. These celebrations aim to further solidify the Pakistan-China friendship and explore new avenues of cooperation.

The parties reaffirmed that China and Pakistan are “iron brothers” and all-weather strategic cooperative partners built on a foundation of deep mutual trust. They agreed that strong bilateral relations are vital for regional peace, stability, and development, citing frequent high-level contacts as a hallmark of their relationship. Furthermore, they agreed to a five-year action plan, prioritizing the building of a Pakistan-China community with a shared future.
