India Uses BLA Terrorists to Attack Pakistan: Hawa Baloch and Asifa Mengal Cases Revealed

Islamabad / Quetta — Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) receives funding and support from India, and deliberately targets civilians, including women and children.
His statement comes amid renewed debate over the identities of Hawa Baloch and Asifa Mengal, two women linked to recent suicide attacks against Pakistani security forces in Balochistan.
Khawaja Asif Accuses India of Backing BLA
Speaking to the media, Khawaja Asif said that the BLA routinely attacks poor people, labourers, and unemployed citizens, rather than military targets.
He alleged that the group uses women and children to carry out attacks and spreads false narratives under the cover of human rights.
The defence minister said Pakistan’s security forces had killed more than 100 terrorists in the past two days, while 11 soldiers were martyred during counterterrorism operations.
He added that statements from arrested militants point directly toward Indian involvement.
Terror Incidents Across Balochistan
Khawaja Asif said that 12 terrorist incidents took place across 12 cities in Balochistan in a single day.
He claimed that women were found involved in two of these incidents.
He also revealed that a young girl was identified as a suicide attacker in Pasni, and warned that the number of killed militants may increase as operations continue.
Security forces are currently conducting clearance operations, he said, noting that Balochistan’s vast geography makes security operations more challenging.
Allegations Against Political Silence
The defence minister urged political parties to move beyond personal politics and unite against terrorism.
He said that while he could not directly accuse political groups of facilitating terrorism, silence and failure to condemn attacks often becomes indirect support.
He stressed that the fight against terrorism should be treated as a single-point national agenda, with no political divisions.
Who Was Asifa Mengal?
According to security sources, Asifa Mengal was born in 2002.
She reportedly joined the BLA in early 2024.
She was killed in a suicide attack in Noshki, targeting Pakistani security forces.
Who Was Hawa Baloch?
The BLA identified Hawa Baloch, also known by the alias Daroshum, as another female suicide bomber.
According to the group’s claim, she carried out a suicide attack in Gwadar against Pakistani security forces and died in the explosion.
Use of Missing Persons Narrative
Khawaja Asif also said that BLA and related groups of exploiting the issue of missing persons.
He claimed that most individuals described as missing were actually meambers of terrorist organizations, calling the narrative a “complete fraud.”
Warning to Terrorists and Facilitators
The defence minister said that India and Afghanistan are using groups like the BLA and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) against Pakistan.
He warned that no enemy of Pakistan should expect leniency.
“Terrorists fled Balochistan leaving behind the bodies of their companions,” he said, adding that Pakistan will continue its long fight against terrorism until victory is achieved.
