Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori Announces Rs 10 Million Reward for Pakistan T20 World Cup Win
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has pledged a Rs 10 million reward for the Pakistan cricket team if they emerge victorious in the ICC T20 World Cup.
In his statement regarding the high-stakes encounter between the arch-rivals, Tessori added that he would personally welcome the team at the airport upon their return. Expressing his excitement, he said he would shower the players with three maunds (120 kg) of flower petals and distribute 3,000 kg of sweets across Karachi in celebration of a Pakistani triumph.
Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first in the marquee ICC T20 World Cup clash against India at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday.
Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha commented on the pitch, saying, “It is a big game, but everyone is relaxed and focused, and are looking forward to the challenge. This is a bigger ground than the SSC, he says, and slightly slower too. Same team for Pakistan.”
Meanwhile, India captain Suryakumar Yadav welcomed losing the toss, stating, “It is easy to say this is another game, but this is a high-stakes contest. This sport teaches a lot of things, and anyone can have a good day. Abhishek and Kuldeep come in, but he only mentions Arshdeep as the player going out. Samson could be the other.”
Historically, India have dominated T20 Internationals against Pakistan, winning 13 of 16 meetings, while Pakistan has claimed three victories. In T20 World Cup clashes specifically, India lead 7-1, with one match ending in a tie at the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup.
Both teams enter this match unbeaten in the group stage, with Pakistan defeating the Netherlands and the USA, while India overcame the USA and Namibia, setting the stage for another intense chapter in cricket’s most storied rivalry.
