NADRA adds ‘Verification History’ feature to PakID App
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new “Verification History” feature on its PakID mobile app to help citizens track their CNIC verification.
According to NADRA’s statement on X (formerly Twitter), “To protect your personal information, it is important for you to be aware of when and by whom your identity information was verified. Take advantage of the ‘Verification History’ feature in the PakID mobile app and get complete information about when and where your identity card was verified.”
This new feature allows citizens to check the verification history of their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) easily. It also makes the CNIC process more convenient, as citizens can now apply for a CNIC from home without standing in long queues at NADRA centres.
Last month, NADRA also announced that citizens can register for their CNIC without a birth certificate. The authority said, “NADRA provides facility to make identity card without birth certificate. Males over the age of 24 who have not obtained an identity card and whose father or mother and one of their sisters or brothers have an identity card or a National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) should come with their father or mother who has an identity card.”
The CNIC will record the parents’ names, date of birth, and place of birth as provided during registration, and this information will not be changed for life. Additionally, NADRA has announced a discount on birth certificates available until December 31, 2026.
