Punjab Government Orders Temporary Closure of Medical Educational Institutions
The Punjab government has decided to temporarily close all medical educational institutions across the province.
According to an official notification issued by the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department, all public and private medical universities, colleges, and nursing schools in Punjab will remain closed from March 10 to March 31.
The department stated that first- and second-year MBBS classes and academic activities will continue online, while third, fourth, and final-year MBBS classes, including clinical attachments, will proceed as usual.
“All medical examinations will be conducted according to the previously announced schedule,” the notification confirmed. Nursing and allied health students, along with teaching faculty, will continue their duties in the relevant hospitals.
Heads of all institutions have been instructed to strictly ensure compliance with these directives, as part of the government’s efforts to maintain smooth academic and clinical operations during the temporary closure.
