PM Shehbaz Calls Iran FM Visit Significant Diplomatic Development

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has described the arrival of a small delegation led by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi to Pakistan as a significant diplomatic development.

The news reports claimed that following contact from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar contacted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and informed him of the conversation with his Iranian counterpart.

Shahbaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar discussed the security situation in the region and concerns about increasing tensions while also discussing the second round of talks between Iran and the United States.

According to sources, the Deputy Prime Minister briefed the Prime Minister on diplomatic developments.

It should be noted that Pakistan is actively working to bring both sides back to the negotiating table soon. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has issued important policy and diplomatic instructions for peace and stability.

Pakistan is committed to reducing tensions in the region, building confidence and advancing the dialogue process. Shahbaz Sharif directed the acceleration of high-level diplomatic contacts and continued consultations.

Sources further said that Pakistan emphasized the need to further activate the international role in peace efforts.
