Pakistan rejects British envoy remarks on Pak-Afghan border situation

02 May, 2026 16:00

The Foreign Office of Pakistan has responded to a social media post by a British envoy regarding the Pak-Afghan border situation.

A spokesperson for the Foreign Office of Pakistan said the envoy’s remarks did not reflect the ground realities and lacked a full understanding of the situation.

The spokesperson stated that infiltration attempts from Afghanistan have continued despite an announced temporary pause.

According to the statement, attacks by Afghan Taliban elements caused the deaths of 52 civilians and injured 84 others.

The Foreign Office also said that cross-border attacks included proxies supported by Afghan Taliban groups.

Pakistan, the spokesperson said, showed restraint but responded effectively. Security forces targeted Afghan posts and structures allegedly used to support militants.

Several attempts of cross-border infiltration were also foiled, according to the statement.

The spokesperson rejected Afghan claims of civilian casualties caused by Pakistan’s response, calling them unreliable.

The Foreign Office added that such unnecessary remarks ignore the real causes of terrorism and fail to present a balanced and objective view of the situation.
