Major changes expected in federal cabinet after budget

ISLAMABAD: Consultations are ongoing regarding changes in the federal cabinet, according to government sources.

Prime Minister has reportedly asked all federal ministers to submit a performance report covering the last two years. Special focus has been placed on the last three months of the second year.

Sources say one federal minister has himself requested to be relieved of his duties, while a minister from a coalition party has also asked for a change in his ministry.

After the upcoming budget, some new faces are also expected to join the cabinet, sources added.

The Prime Minister is also personally reviewing the performance of different ministries and taking detailed briefings from ministers.

According to sources, special attention is being given to the Ministries of Finance, Petroleum, and Power Division.

Consultations regarding possible changes in several ministries are continuing on a regular basis as the government evaluates performance and future plans.
