Pakistan Army Leadership Emphasizes Regional Stability, Sovereignty, and Counter-Terrorism Commitment at High-Level Meeting
Pakistan’s top military leadership has emphasized restraint and the importance of regional stability amid rising tensions in the Middle East, warning that shifting geopolitical developments could have serious consequences for peace and security, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The remarks were made during the 275th Corps Commanders’ Conference held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, chaired by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir.
The meeting took place against the backdrop of ongoing regional instability following US-Israeli strikes on Iran earlier this year, which escalated into a conflict now under a fragile ceasefire.
The military leadership stressed the need for restraint and warned against escalation, while highlighting Pakistan’s continued responsible role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
“It reiterated that peace and stability in the region are intrinsically linked to collective restraint, responsibility and respect for sovereignty,” the ISPR statement said.
Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed satisfaction over the operational readiness and professionalism of the armed forces and praised ongoing intelligence-based counter-terrorism operations across the country.
The forum reviewed both internal and external security challenges and reaffirmed its resolve to dismantle terrorist networks and eliminate their operational capacity within Pakistan.
On Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, the military leadership noted progress in degrading terrorist infrastructure and criticized the Afghan Taliban regime for allegedly providing safe havens to militant groups.
The forum also rejected propaganda claims against Pakistan, stating that such narratives are part of disinformation campaigns aimed at diverting attention from internal failures.
It reaffirmed that Pakistan’s defensive actions are precise and targeted only against terrorists and their support networks.
The conference also marked the anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, recognizing it as a symbol of national unity and resilience. The military reiterated Pakistan’s readiness and unity in defending sovereignty.
The forum strongly condemned ongoing violence in IIOJK, including alleged human rights violations and demographic changes, reaffirming diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmiri people.
Concluding the session, COAS Asim Munir directed commanders to maintain vigilance and operational readiness, emphasizing professional excellence and proactive defense strategies.
The meeting also paid tribute to martyrs of Pakistan’s armed forces and civilians, honoring their sacrifices as the foundation of national security and resilience.
